But I looked down at my hands and then back up, only to say, "Have you ever felt the pain of watching two lovers embrace at the end of a movie? It's supposed to be a happy ending. But your heart tells your lungs to stop breathing for just a minute…because it will never ever be yours."

The girl with the broken eyes didn't look up. She couldn't. She didn't want to. Her whole body was tattooed with the rain that had started hours before, her hair dripping with the sky's tears. She hadn't wanted to dry the sorrow of the weather from her skin; for fear that someone would see her own.

"I asked, do you know what victory is?" The voice was soft, but strong. And there was something about it that reminded her that she needed to pay attention.

She still didn't speak and a disappointed sigh came from the voice. It was as if the rain had stolen her voice.

coffee brown hair and tangle my legs

"You're the girl whose eyes close every night and open the next morning, only to find you have never slept at all."

"I sleep well. Besides-"

"You're the girl who dreams of a happy ending even though she has seen seventeen...no, eighteen unhappy ones in her eighteen years."

"Happy endings are over rated. And you're-"

I inhaled shards of glass,
not that I needed anymore inner pain.
I have a shield made of broken hearts,
and your's was defintely the ugliest.
I hope you forget me,
I'm tired of this guilt.

I bled out all the happiness that remained,
there were thumbtacks stuck in my pores.
I want an empty casket,
to lay my conscience to rest.
I hope you lose me,
I'm doubtful you'll find me again.

I chewed up all my vulnerability,
it tasted like burnt toast.
I look for a new sense of purpose,
but all the good ones were out of stock.
I hope you hate me,
I'm desperate

DiscontinuedI embroider my lips like
my old teddy bears.
black buttons sewn shut.

Forcing my stuffings within, and
lining my cracks with dust.
My seams pulled tight.
Distant.
Closed.

No one to play with,
They've all grown

wrong bedsyou fall to the ground, sand between your fingers,
grass tickling the tips of your toes

emotion drained from your system through way of your lungs

muscles relax, head sinking into the ground,

broken twigs litter the ground beside you
still clinging onto their leaves -
bright green in the cloud-dulled moonlight

you realise you love them more than anything else in this world
because you know that sometimes,
the broken things need the most love

smoke fills your nostils, stings your eyes

take a few deep breaths [even if you don't want to breathe anymore]. listen to the pitter-patter of your heart beating in your ears and feel your pulse racing. taste the silence of the world; see the anxiety take over you.

close your eyes and look at the black. look at the black until you see something worth holding onto inside of yourself. wait until breathing doesn't feel like a losing game and then open your eyes,

absolutei once had someone who was like my favorite blanket.
i held him close, felt his warmth and inhaled his scent that helped me fall asleep.
clothed or naked, he treated me indifferently.
all i'm most certain of is that whenever i'm with him,
i'm like near the ocean, or under a shady tree on a scorching day.

i spoke to him the way i spoke to myself in my head; careless, familiar, unafraid.
i used to lie in his arms with a selfish grin, knowing i have found something most people never will.
i don't exactly know what, but whatever it is, it's definitely worth every ounce of my sleepless nights.

If love was exchangable,
I would do so with your love
in a second without

h e s i t a t i o n .

Who would want such a
false sense of admiration,
with

_each

_lying

_word

you breathe into my ears.

But now I wonder,
can you love, do you have it
inside of you to do so?

Or maybe your heart
has shriveled and perished

into oblivion,
Never to be touched by
any soul again.

Perhaps it is isolation
you seek since you are
So ^high up
in your kingdom.

Then it shall be

that befriends you
in this god forsaken world.

For I have given up
on this love
