I didnt think i would have gotten so lucky with this shot. It was my first time out with my camera and I really had lack of experince (still do)

I was walking home with my friend when I stopped for a moment and saw this beautiful lady. I couldn't stop staring at her (bc i have a thing for Asians XD), and I guess...i gathered the courage to take this shot:

click for the story for that one ~

+++

And after that, I still kept watching her (*W* stalker !)
She was with her unattractive husband(?) and as they walked past me, I had to be more of a stalker and watch her.

She was walking away and I just wanted another pic. Her back was facing me then, so I brought the camera to my face and waited for a few seconds to get a good shot. It was a bit werid because her husband(?) was right beside her and I didnt want him in the shot >.> She was waiting for him because he was fumbling with his own camera...

But, i think that ultimately helped me in the end with the composition of the photo. As you can see above XD

“Are you ready?” I distinctively recalled her asking her husband (?) as she was getting ready to walk.Which is why she turned her head to the side.

And I just took the shot (now or never moment) also because I had argument in my head if this felt right >..<

I quickly put my camera down and just watched her walk away. It happened so fast because each second, she was moving and changing positions, whatever. And then they held hands and started walking away, getting farther and farther.

+++

I would like to know your thoughts with this foto, which is why I only told the story, but if you want to read my further thoughts about this, you can read it ^^ But be sure that if you going to comment, comment first, then read it because i dont want it to influence your thoughts

Oh ! Too much words. Sry ^^:

Thank you for taking the time to view this <3 means a lot to me because I think this is the best shot I have ever taken ~

-M.

{ btw, think about stealing this and I will drag you down the 7 levels of hell :] }

I think I can see why you love this photo so much. Here, there's evidence of the beauty of the woman that she's unaware of. I love the little story you posted in the comments! :) It helps me appreciate this photo more. I want to know more about it, but I'll respect your wish and post my thoughts before I read more. So here are my thoughts on it.

The perspective on this photo gives some stunning details! I'm glad this is in b&w because in color the great composition would probably be less noticeable.

Of course, the lovely woman is the first thing the viewer sees, the largest object in the foreground (:XD: I don't think that woman would like it very much if she knew I called her that). Then as the eyes roam around to take in the background, the viewer would note 3 big details that really fit well juxtaposed with the woman: the trees, the small shapes of the people, and the shadows of the trees that across the wide path.

I love the graceful lines of the tree trunks and branches, and the blurry shapes of the leaves. :heart: The different tone values of the people's shapes look very good, and the shadows add an interesting design to the whole picture.

The photo looks so serene. :love: You have a distinct style in your photography, and I like it very much! I'm impressed you got this daring shot in one go ("now or never"). Hopefully you'll come across more beautiful photos like this in the future!

Hey dear ~ Sorry for lateness of this reply OTL

Ah yeh, I think the story made the photo that more special ~ Though, my original thoughts written was removed because my blog got deleted, since the site/domain shut down or something like that :/ Cruel world...

Interestingly enough, many of your comments corresponded to my initial thoughts :XD haha XD

I think the shadows and lines of the trees really added to the photo too ~ I got lucky that I was able to get her in focus for the only shot I took in that angle :dead: haha, beginners luck I suppose :"D

Haha, now or never moment, yeh that's exactly it. I might have more of those moments because now I don't really feel as shy anymore. But, I just have to be careful not to get caught, haha. ^^"

Thanks so much for the kind comments, I really appreciate your insight ♥

You're welcome. And that's ok, I have a habit of replying late too (like now, sorry! ><).

I wondered about why the story wasn't there. Stupid internet stupidity :shakefist: I really wanted to read it, what a waste!

Can I ask you how do you feel about your current photography now? :)

This is a gorgeous photo. Not just because it's in black and white, it feels like an old, classic photo to me. And that lady is really pretty. xD I like how she's to the side so that even though she is the focus, you can still see the lovely park behind her, with the other people and amazing trees. Wonderful shot. ^^ <3

I love this shot, its a really good "in the moment" type thing. It shows a little bit of action but its enought to make you sit there and wonder why she has her head turned (well, when you don't have the story right there haha ^^). :)

I'm Muslim and I cover my face when I go out. So if someone took a pic of me I'd aotomattically assume it was without my face covered and be really pissed about it.
Although I've decided that maybe that pic is different because u can't see her face.

You're such a stalker. But! Critique!
I like how there is actually a range of values with the grayscale and not plastered together like some B/W photos are, for a movement shot you got a healthy amount of detail in the woman's clothes that (with the help of your camera lens I imagine) nicely sets her apart form the other persons without removing her from the background. It's a shame that the little girl walked in at the last moment; if the woman were alone in the foreground, the picture possibly would have come across more withdrawn and secretive (in a good way), rendering her as the only real face that you could clearly see, focusing your eyes more onto her, yet be intrigued at what she could be thinking and that fierce scowl she's giving.

there are many things i love about art, whether it be photography or water color or even animation, there is practically always a story behind it, and this story is just amazing, an amazing shot that (and i hope i read this right) almost didnt even happen. that is what separates art from work, and in the same moment, it is also what combines them to create a masterpiece.

great photo

This is really amazing photo, your eye is drawn to her than the people, trees, shadows, then back to her. If your an artist stalking is fine, i draw people downtown and stalk women all the time, sometimes their flattered when they find out.
